Magic happens when partnership happens
We believe the only way of ending period poverty is by joining efforts with others. This is why we partner with a wide range of actors such as NGOs, international organizations, local communities, private sector, governments, universities and others to end period poverty.
These are some of our partners, collaborators and supporters. Without them our work would not be possible.
Fighting period poverty in Somali region
With financial support from the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), Mela for Her is partnering with the local NGO Pastoralist Concern to improve 3,000 adolescent girls’ health, education and wellbeing through the provision of safe and quality menstrual products and information. Additionally, more than 10,000 adolescent boys, teachers, school administrators, parents and religious and community leaders around the targeted schools will benefit from awareness raising and education activities.
MAE MAZE + Mela for Her
Both companies share a strong commitment and passion for people and environment. Mae Maze is an independent unisex fashion company based in London that is supporting us in making our products and production system more efficient, innovative and sustainable.
The collaboration between Mae Maze – Mela for Her has broken many stereotypes and shown that menstrual products can and need to be beautiful, attractive and fashionable.
A market-based approach to benefit women and girls
Under an innovative public-private-nonprofit model, and together with en Ayuda en Acción and local governments, we are promoting women and girls’ empowerment in Wolaita, Borena and Arsi Zones, Ethiopia, through improving their access to sustainable menstrual products and education. Women cooperatives will play a key role to ensure availability and access to MELA products in the local market .
